Water: for life and against disability
Description/achievement of initiative

The initiative orients people on personal responsibility for the life of the planet, awareness of consequences of water pollution for life and health of the majority people. Orientation of this initiative should be on the understanding of the social value of water resources, on public involvement in the development of moral principles in relation to water management, to supply objective and realistic information about the state of the country's water resources. This initiative must design and support innovative partnerships with the private sector, NGOs, development banks, multilateral and bilateral cooperation with other agencies.

Cooperation of healthy people and people with disabilities in the initiative, among them girls and women. Coordination mechanisms/governance structure

Advisory Committee - Regional centers of advanced knowledge on water – Local communities. Designing and supporting innovative partnerships with the private sector, non-governmental organizations, development banks, multilateral and bilateral cooperation with other agencies, which support the initiative. Learning opportunities offered by the reforms of environmental taxation, including innovative tax allocation models and fiscal incentives. Earmarking national budgetary allocations and reallocation of priorities in existing allocations to engage sub-national and local authorities on water protection. Involvement of the Global Water Partnership (“Sail of Hope” is a member of it) to assist in the efforts to implement the initiative.
