Catch Them Young to Achieve the Sustainable Development Goal(s)
Description/achievement of initiative

The project seek to impact the knowledge of all SDGs in Zongo community of the Greater Accra Region of Ghana, through Primary and Junior High School children, the children who are our future leaders, as it was said “catch them young and they shall be yours forever”, we want to create awareness and advocacy for all Goals in our poor community, the children will learn and then go to educate the members of their community on the SDGs. and how to help in the implementation of the goals

Implementation methodologies

The Initiative will be carried out in Primary and Junior High Schools in Zongo communities of the greater Accra Region of Ghana, Field Educators will be visiting schools to mentor the children and also organize in-school completion, winners will then represent their schools in the Inter- School SDGs Quiz which is going to be organizing quarterly by the organization. The organization will also collaborate with the schools to organize a community outreach program to create awareness in the communities.

Arrangements for Capacity-Building and Technology Transfer

School teachers will be encouraged to take a very active role in sustaining the activities and making it a point to provide support to the children on any product or SDGs document for the use of the children, the teacher will be encouraged to set up SDGs clubs in their schools and also keep and make document on the implementation of the SDGs and how best they can make the catch them young 2030 implementations possible. The education ministry will be encouraged to spread the implementations activities to other schools in Ghana.

Coordination mechanisms/governance structure

The project will be structured by active participation and entertainment of the children, the organization will train volunteer Field Educators who will then go to the schools to teach the children and then the children will collaborate with the Field Educators to plan outreach activities to educate and create awareness the community members.

4.7 - By 2030, ensure that all learners acquire the knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development, including, among others, through education for sustainable development and sustainable lifestyles, human rights, gender equality, promotion of a culture of peace and non-violence, global citizenship and appreciation of cultural diversity and of culture’s contribution to sustainable development
4.a - Build and upgrade education facilities that are child, disability and gender sensitive and provide safe, non-violent, inclusive and effective learning environments for all
4.b - By 2020, substantially expand globally the number of scholarships available to developing countries, in particular least developed countries, small island developing States and African countries, for enrolment in higher education, including vocational training and information and communications technology, technical, engineering and scientific programmes, in developed countries and other developing countries
