Portfolio Management to strengthen the means of implementation for SDG’s Strategies
Description/achievement of initiative

This initiative aim to develop a handbook for best practices in implementation methodologies in Portfolio, Program, and project management levels. In order to strengthen the means of implementations for National Sustainable Development Goals Strategies and 2030 Agenda in developing countries. And assist different stakeholders either international, or public, or private, or NGO's to keep SDG’s goals on track during planning, execution and progress monitoring phases. In addition to recommend a stakeholder engagement mechanism during complex projects and negotiations.

Implementation methodologies

This initiative will define the latest state of the art literature in Portfolio Projects Management to be an implementation approach for national sustainable development goals strategies to fulfill the sustainable development goal 17.

Arrangements for Capacity-Building and Technology Transfer

National System and National Management Institute will assure capacity building and technology transfer through call of chapters to inventorial recognised researchers in the field. Publications of approved chapters in conferences, workshops and policy briefs on SDGs created and distributed to related Ministries and government institutions in Egypt. In addition to press and other stakeholders. After final approvals from related stakeholders, the handbook development will include:- Translation into Arabic and other langue’s if needed.- Develop training programs on the handbook for government officials

Coordination mechanisms/governance structure

National System Senior Advisory will establish timeline and work plan to negotiate with different partners. An advisory board will be developed from potential partners: National Management Institute; Police Academy research center; Public Policy & administration department at the American university in Cairo; and center of Technology for government in New York. National System will coordinate between different stakeholders and will be responsible for project management.The handbook would help country like Egypt in the implementation of its new National Sustainable Development Strategy (Egypt Vision 2030). And fulfill the objectives of goal 17.
