Description/achievement of initiative
The Initiative aims at enhancing sustainable collaboration in all economic sectors. The University Green Club will provide a foundation for strengthening different faculties in the University and the symbiotic relationship that exists towards achieving the transition to greener economy. The project aims at providing a platform for the Club to develop a project, pilot it in the University and then adopt a community where the project will be implemented.
Implementation methodologies
The Green University Clubs Initiative provides an opportunity for the University to implement the research based projects that impact the community directly. As per the statistics, there are quite a number of viable research papers in our universities that if implemented can support the poverty reduction process hence protecting our natural resources while hastening the achievement of 2030Agenda. The implementation of this initiative takes a methodology of ensuring successful projects get to be implemented at the community level by first, the project plan is developed by the club with all the measures considered through a Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Treats evaluation to ensure the project is fully viable. The project then will move to the next stage of being piloted at the University to access its impact. Finally when seen that the project works, the University adopts a community where the full implementation of the project will be carried out.
