Description/achievement of initiative
Formed in 2012 as a flagship program of the One Eleuthera Foundation, the Center For Training and Innovation works to connect people and possibilities so that students, instructors and staff will be distinguishably different, exhibiting a positive attitude and a commitment to serve and lead the ongoing development of Eleuthera. Current vocational courses include: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, farming, housekeeping, masonry and landscaping. CTI also works to generate income through its operation of The Retreat at CTI (the only training hotel in the Bahamas) and the CTI Farm which organically grows fruits and vegetables for local sale.
