Description/achievement of initiative
We are a team of medical emergency medicine and primary care doctors and academics who are seeking to support Nepal to develop capacity and capability in the development of remote and rural emergency interventions to save lives and to reduce life long disability. The International Academy of Medical Leadership will provide educational oversight and are currently seeking UK Royal College accreditation for the programme.
Implementation methodologies
We have designed a curriculum and mapped this agains the Royal College of Surgeons, Pre -Hospital department criteria. We have a programme convener, Dr Iain McNeil and meet regularly to oversee and manage the quality of this programme.
Arrangements for Capacity-Building and Technology Transfer
We are undertaking a full evaluation against core elements of the SDG.
Coordination mechanisms/governance structure
We are a consortia of organisations in the UK and Nepal and have a Programme Director in place Dr Prakash Subedi and Educational Governance is led by Dr Jill Aylott, International Academy of Medical Leadership.
