Increase household income and employment generation by rearing cross breed cattle through commercial way.
Description/achievement of initiative

The major objectives are to increase livestock number, increase milk production, decrease mortality rate of livestock animal, increase hoursehold income and nutrition and increase entrepreneurial capacity among unemployed adults and increase employment facilities.

Implementation methodologies

Our objectives is implemented by identifying gaps which came up after baseline surveying has completed. Then we are funcitioning regularly by training provision, field visit, technology transfer, excursion tour to help the vulnerable communities to come up with possible solution. It is helping rural community to positively tackle the harsh change.

Arrangements for Capacity-Building and Technology Transfer

All these activities is monitored by 4 local offices and with 6 field staffs. Training and technology transfer has been provided to local dairy farmers on a regular basis. Regular monthly monitoring has been facilitated by field staffs. Any difficulties that arise relation to the project is cured at once so that farmers could get financial stability as well as project sustainability. Moreover, soft loan is provided to them to bring their luck back and to tackle any emergency that hindered their way to success. Cattle insurance is their to protect livestock resources. Mini veterinary lab establishment also helps to identify livestock diseases and holistic based treatment procedure increases the production.

Coordination mechanisms/governance structure

This initiative is implemented among 3000 families in two district of Bangladesh. Each and ever household has one or more milk producing cow. This project is financially supported and monitored by PKSF personnels. This project is successfully implemented by a local NGO with local livestock government. This project will run till April 2019 and then it will remain self reliable.
