Description/achievement of initiative
The primary focus of the PIDF and CIRDAP, in so far as the two organisations jointly implement programmes and projects, will be, among other things, to improve access to technical training for citizens of the Pacific Island region. To facilitate this objective, the PIDF will act as the Pacific Coordinator for training facilitated by CIRDAP.
The PIDF and CIRDAP may also consider, where this is deemed feasible, co-financing arrangements through the appropriate organs of their respective Organisations, and with other Organisations or Institutions or Parties, for the effective implementation of projects which are in consonance with areas identified by them.
Implementation methodologies
The PIDF Secretary-General and the Director General of CIRDAP will from time to time hold consultations on such questions as may arise on subjects covered by this MOU.
The PIDF Secretary-General and the Director General of CIRDAP may, for purposes of the application of the collaboration, enter into such supplementary arrangements as may be deemed desirable in the light of experience.
The PIDF acts as the Pacific Coordinator for training facilitated by CIRDAP.
Arrangements for Capacity-Building and Technology Transfer
The focus of joint implementation between PIDF and CIRDAP is to improve access to technical training for citizens of the Pacific Island region to co-operate and collaborate with each other where appropriate over a wide range of issues.
Coordination mechanisms/governance structure
The projects is examined by the PIDF and CIRDAP and, where feasible and within the framework of their approved Programme Budget and activities, they use their best endeavors to provide assistance in such forms and on such conditions as is agreed upon.
