Description/achievement of initiative
LIM College teaches the business side of the fashion industry - as such we educate the fashion industry's future business decision makers. We know that the fashion industry is one of the least sustainable industries globally.
We must be on the front line of knowledge acquisition and global discussion to ensure that tomorrow's fashion industry leaders are fully informed about how vitally important sustainability is and to make the right decisions around it!
Implementation methodologies
LIM College will employ the following methodologies:
An internal Task Force will set goals and timelines. This Task Force will meet regularly as needed with, for example, the Provost and the Dean of Academic Affairs to further (because we have already started) weaving more sustainability into the curriculum.
We will meet with the Office of Student Affairs to ensure student involvement including student focus groups and clubs. We will also work with Student Affairs to make sure students are aware of HESI's and it's partners student opportunities.
There will be more - these are just examples of the College's strategic project methodologies.
Arrangements for Capacity-Building and Technology Transfer
LIM College is the premier institution teaching the business side of the fashion industry - our main mission is to make positive changes through the transfer of knowledge. We will do so through education and faculty/student research.
Coordination mechanisms/governance structure
This initiative will be governed and directed by a cross College Task Force, with regularly scheduled meetings, meeting Minutes and specific goals with the attendant timeline.
