Description/achievement of initiative
The objectives of this initiative are:
1. To gainfully occupy the children for the summer holidays in order to eliminate idleness, liming, and trouble making.
2. To develop the human capacity of the people of Hopetown and by extension the country of Guyana by teaching the children skills that will help for a lifetime.
3. To create opportunities for economic growth.
4. To promote a spirit of entrepreneurship, innovation that capitalizes on the resourcefulness of people of Hopetown from a young age.
5. To mentor the younger generation and inspire them with hope and opportunities.
6. To eliminate poverty
Implementation methodologies
The Programme will be implemented in the Hopetown Primary School working working closely with the school's principal. The 10 top ten students from Standards 2, 3, and 4 will be chosen to participate in the programme. a total of 30 students. For first four (4) days of the programme, an expert will present for 45 to 50 minutes on a specified topic, after the listen and learn session, the children will participate in a hands on activity which will take up 1 hr 5 topics will be presented by the experts who are volunteering to share their expertise in this programme. These topics are: Self discovery, Entrepreneurship, Leadership and How to deal with Bullying, Social Media Etiquette & Safety, and Lego blocks building innovation. In addition the children will be required to learn design skills, write an essay, work in teams, think critically, and will be exposed to entrepreneurship ideas.

Coordination mechanisms/governance structure
AMZ Consulting Company Limited is a Personal Development Company created and managed by Lleuella Morris. The Hopetown Kids Skills Development Initiative is a pilot project coordinated by the non-profit arm of AMZ named IHSED (Investing in Human Social & Economic Development). It's first non profit initiative since our company was registered in 2016.
Lleuella Morris has a BA. English and BSc. Behavioural Sciences emphasis Psychology. She is a Personal Growth Expert and a Masters Thesis Coach. She has volunteered with meaningful initiatives especially with interest to the blind and visually impaired. She has served as the Director of Programmes on the board of the Association of Female Executives of Trinidad and Tobago (AFETT) NGO in 2015; worked with the Miss T&T differently-abled Queen Show 2013 helping to train, support, and build the capacity of the contestants; volunteered with United Nations online volunteers platform (UNV online) supporting the work of international agencies in India and Spain; sitting on the Children Ministry Advisory Committee of the South Caribbean Conference of Seventh-day Adventists in Trinidad; and volunteered as a mentor in the British Gas Trinidad and Tobago (BGTT) Mentorship Programme 2013.
Ms. Morris will coordinate the programme.
