GODUCATE
Description/achievement of initiative

GODUCATE comes from two words "go" and "educate". Its mission is to Go and Educate people who otherwise have no access to education, so that they can escape lives of uselessness and hopelessness. It is a non-governmental organization that aims to "Help Asians Help Themselves". The organization equips and empowers various groups such as children, youth and adult so that they will be able to help themselves and their community. Goducate is helping communities in Asian countries such as Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia, Malaysia and Philippines. Our commitment is to align our activity to the targets of Sustainable Development Goals 3, 4, and 16.

Implementation methodologies

Goducate partners with the local government and various agencies in helping a community. It works with rather than for communities, to help them help themselves. It runs community development programs that caters to the needs of different groups such as children, youth and adult. Aside from community development programs, it offers community development training twice a year that equips leaders for the global community. The training desires the participants to be equipped with the skills in building partnerships and creating platforms fit for each community anywhere in Asia

Arrangements for Capacity-Building and Technology Transfer

Staffs and volunteers of Goducate undergoes a bi-annual capacity-building and skills enhancements by competent trainers. Staffs and volunteers of Goducate conducts leadership and enhancement training to people in the communities that they are helping. The training recently started implementing online platforms, maximizing technology by partnering with international trainers and setting up virtual classes where trainees can ask questions and discuss on topics online. The video conferences give the trainee a glimpse of what platforms they can use that are effective internationally.

Coordination mechanisms/governance structure

Goducate is a non-governmental organization that helps poor communities in Asia such as Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia and the Philippines. The headquarter is located in Singapore. The management is decentralized and the national leaders in respective countries are given authority to decide for the means of delivering the aid to their areas. In general, Goducate has 200 staffs all over the said networks.
