Description/achievement of initiative

Bihar Social Entrepreneur Association (BSEA) was founded in 2011 by a combine effort of few organizations and enterprises. BSEA is an inside out entrepreneurship journey that recognizes and nurtures young and aspiring entrepreneurs to achieve their potential through outstanding opportunities of learning, inspiration, change-driven leadership, social impact and innovation in Bihar. We at BSEA, aim to connect non-reached communities and youth of Bihar in an effort to bring them out of digital darkness and empower them with the required knowledge and resources like training, guidance, seed capital, liasioning for various state, central and CSR schemes to start their own micro businesses.

Implementation methodologies

we are trying to capacitate our village level team for this initiative. We aee already working for skilling, right to education, right to food, entrepreneurship, incubation support methodology. Management that develops and orchestrates business, marketing and management resources and relationships tailored to the needs of the business clients Shared services, training, technology support and equipment Selection of clients and an acceleration process by which businesses become more independent and progress to graduation. Assistance in obtaining the financing necessary for business growth.

Arrangements for Capacity-Building and Technology Transfer

Coordination mechanisms/governance structure

Advocacy work on a local, regional and national level. We work closely with local municipalities, Gram Panchayat, State and Central Ministries as well Corporate and individuals towards creating a support system for social enterprises (financial support, training, mentoring etc.) on a local and national level. Creating a social entrepreneurship  by providing a platform for cooperation and learning, as well as looking for ways how to respond to the needs of our members and social entrepreneurship industry in Bihar as well as in India. Practically that means connecting social enterprises with those who can help them (experts, mentors, service providers, investors, etc.), organizing events for sharing skills and knowledge, bringing in experts from abroad, working with media and information, as well as providing expertise and consultancy in particular areas (e.g. legal help, finances, grant writing, media and communications, etc.) Raising awareness in a wider society by organizing public events, going to schools and universities, working with media and doing many other things in order to attract attention to all the amazing things our social enterprises do, and education the society about the value of their products and services.
