Description/achievement of initiative
Educate a child is an initiative championed by Together for Africa and its partners to give a helping hand to vulnerable children who are at a risk of dropping out of school before completion of the primary level basically due to different challenges among which include extreme poverty in homes, child lab-our ,lack of support especially orphans, plus those with different disabilities and so willing to have education but have been discriminated by their families and community.
Implementation methodologies
We locate the families of children who dropped out of school due to different challenges and pay their fees and scholastic materials, but they remain staying at their homes as we mobilize to see how best we can change their lives socially and economically through sharing with them the different possibilities and financial assistance depending on the situation.we pay the school fees directly to the school at the start of the academic term and keep on evaluating the progress of the children, ofcourse sometimes we go beyond just education for the fact that the children cannot be reported sick and you fail to react, incase their families are in a terrible financial status plus other emergencies, but what makes us proud is seeing them grow to the next level with a sense of belonging and self love.As a team,we carry out monthly community visits to different villages and with the help of the community leaders,we visit different families that have the challenges stated above.we interact with them and work hand in hand to take back such children to school.we provide scholastic materials and fees that we strictly pay at the schools we identify with in the community, most of these schools accept to have our children study at a subsidized fee.

Coordination mechanisms/governance structure
As an organization,we have an overall project coordinator who is in charge of all the activities and is directly answerable to the Educate a child committee of the organization,at the village level,we deal with the schools where we send the children plus their families that we consistently keep in touch with to see that the children are receiving the expected.we carry out a monthly visit to the schools to get feedback and prepare a monthly report on the progress of the children, followed by a termly, then annual reports. We carry out public campaigns where we register willing donors through our 50,000/= per term campaign,in addition to calling upon other organizations to kindly join us so that we can reach out to more children out there in different regions of Uganda.
currently ever since we launched the campaign,we have reached out to two families and the five children are receiving education at Magret junior school in Muzinda nsangi .our target is to take back 5000 children to school by 2029 and 100 children or the year 2019
