ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ON CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS 'HEALTH
Description/achievement of initiative

GENERAL OBJECTIVE: To promote clarification actions and evaluate the level of knowledge of teachers and students on the impact of the environment on children's health SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: Evaluate the level of knowledge of the Sustainable Development Objectives by teachers and students To develop in the student social skills, self-reflection, attitude and motivation that allow him to collaborate and communicate to promote the ODS;Encourage the child to find solutions to the environmental problems found in their home, school and community and to participate in projects that promote education for sustainability.

Implementation methodologies

The project will be developed with students aged 13-14 enrolled in three municipal schools in Uruguaiana, where primary care physicians participating in the project execution team carry out their activities in the School Health Program. Initially a meeting will be held with the professionals who participated in the project. Subsequently a meeting with the directors and teachers of the participating schools to determine the delimitation of the activities. Following the activities, a questionnaire will be applied to the participating teachers and students to assess the knowledge of the impact of the environment and pollution on children's health and its relation with the Sustainable Development Objectives. With the analysis of the questionnaires as well as the reports of the meetings, it is intended to make a diagnosis of the main problems in the school environment and its surroundings and according to the reality found, priority will be given to the topics to be developed and their relationship with the ODS and pathologies that affect health. Once the themes have been chosen, they will be developed, stimulating students to self-reflection and discussion with their peers, through theatricalisation of themes, bibliographic search, reviewing, visual audio records and drawings expressing the student's thinking, all of this will be part of a reflective portfolio, which will later allow the production of printed educational materials, the same will be exhibited in the school, to stimulate the awareness of other groups of the relevance of the topics treated and stimulate the other classes to reflect. After completion of the topics discussed each month (ODS), the performance of the students will be evaluated, and the points that have not been understood will be developed again. At the end of the project, the students and teachers will respond again to the knowledge questionnaire and will receive a certificate of proficiency in the topics addressed, and students are encouraged to disseminate and apply their knowledge with other colleagues in the school in their homes and in the community. Throughout the project, there will be weekly meetings of the executing team to evaluate students' progress, identifying strengths and areas for growth, always stimulating students to reflect, comparing the environment in which they live with other realities that they do not know, stimulating achievement of research and the subsequent publication of the results and sharing of the experience with other Brazilian schools that stimulate the knowledge of ODS.

Arrangements for Capacity-Building and Technology Transfer

The present work will be intrinsically related to teaching and research actions, since they will participate in the work team students of the medical course of Unipampa and students of the Graduate Program in Education in Sciences, Chemistry of Life and Health. the data collected will provide subsidies for the production of new knowledge about the subject, generating publications and disseminating the subject in the academic and scientific environment and sharing the experience with other sustainable schools of the country. It should be noted that the success of the actions requires a shared management involving the School (direction, teachers), the community, health professionals (pediatricians) and (doctors and nurses of the Family Health Strategy to which the school belongs), and of the professors and academics of the NUPAES research nucleus. We must form both a schoolboy and a university student, a thinker, a reflector, a researcher, motivating and valuing his information-seeking curiosity. Students of the school should know the diverse sources of information, scientific books, literary, scientific articles, poems, specialized websites. To motivate and encourage sustainable technology research, digital and bibliographic research, stimulate the writing of short reviews, articles, booklets, reflective portfolio, which will later allow the production of printed educational materials, Encourage sustainable technology research. To promote events that increase knowledge and promote the exchange, in a first moment between the students of the schools that participate in the project and in a second moment with all the schools of the municipality and with other sustainable schools of the country. Disseminate research conducted at the school, invite researchers to address topics, hold science festivals, strengthen the training of Citizens Researchers. Encourage the creation of games by students looking for solutions to problems encountered in their community, such as challenge, memory, detective, that allow a better relationship of ODS and the environment.

Coordination mechanisms/governance structure

Federal University of Pampa (UNIPAMPA), Municipal Secretary of Health and Education, Rede Unida Brazilian Association, Municipal Health Council. To create a more sustainable world and to engage with issues related to sustainability, as described in (ODS), children must become agents of change for sustainability. They need knowledge, skills, values and attitudes that enable them to contribute to sustainable development. It is hoped that with the application of this project, the University will be able to increase its processes of interaction with the community through the participating schools, as well as to foment the discussion about this subject, which is of great relevance for several aspects of our society. We can emphasize that the magnitude and nature of health risks depends not only on the risks created by climate change and the environment, but also on the sensitivity of people to repair and manage these increasing risks. Therefore, the awareness of health and education professionals, the University and the community are fundamental to identify when new environmental problems arise in a given region. Vulnerability and adaptation assessments at the local level are often a first step in identifying the challenges and opportunities to manage health risks related to climate change and the environment. That is why ODS 17 seeks to strengthen global partnerships to promote and achieve the ambitious goals of Agenda 2030, bringing together governments, community, society, health professionals, university education and other actors. All stakeholders should redirect attention and step up their efforts in areas where progress has been slow. Participants in the health, education, and other sectors can and should take joint action to effectively address the challenges of climate change and the environment, using the full range of policy tools, strategies, and technologies that are already in place. because the future of the planet belongs to children.
