The program Check My House has the objective of improving the conditions of habitability through the concession of benefit in the total value R$ 5.000,00 (five thousand reais) to families of low income. The benefit, in a general manner is granted in the form of credit presumed with ICMS incentive for building materials and local market.

The main features of the Check My Home Program are:Improvig the quality of life by improving the conditions of habitability, especially the hydrosuritary conditions/instalations and accessibility- Increase in the level of employment considering the commercial establishments credentiated suppliers of construction materials. –With regard to the challenges and difficulties

The challenge foud in the concession of the benefit was the implementation of the work by the beneficiary, some of them did not have any resource avaliable for the hiring of qualified work hand, for example: electricians.Therefore, the work was executed only when the person receives the specific resource for the contraction of specialized service, impacting at the time of execution of thw work.

- Governement of the State of Maranhão, by the secretaries of cities, urban development and finance.
- Credentiated commercial establishments (suppliers) of the construction materials segment.

The step-by-step for structuring the Check My Home program can be divided into:
- Government team for plannig meeting;
- Creation of platform for registration of stakeholders in the electronic site of the government of Maranhão;
- Sanction of Law 10.506, decree and public notice;
- Registration period of candidatures;
- Hierachizartion/Selection according to the standard criteria;
- Presentation of necessary documents;
- Conference of documents;
- Call beneficiaries whose documentation was approved;
- Delivery of the fist installment (R$ 2.500,00);
- Accountability;
- Delivery of the second installment (R$ 2.500,00)
- Final accountability

The program in only two yeras of existence benefited 7.776 (seven thousand seven hundred and seventy six) families. The main improvements achieved by the program was the priority structure for the beneficiaries, such as: sanitary facilities, expansion/adequacy of the space to handicapped and reduced mobility persons, electrical installations, hydraulic and other structural improvements.
As a negative point, the low quality of the services carried out by the beneficiaries and the work hand contracted by them.

The program faced basic and essential habitation priorities, this implies in improvements not only in rooms, as well as in health dignity and well-being. The government had the sensitivity to look at theses questions by giving financial and personal support with qualified technical team to support all the needs of the program.

The main difficulty to be overcome consisted in adequating the work of the technical team to the necessary demand of service. To minimize that limitation, there were extended the technical team to dynamize the work. The team worked with specific goals evaluations, opinions and instruments for the implementation of the program.

In reason of the positive impactss achieved by the implementation of the program, the government resolved to enlarge it to the whole state of Maranhão. Until 2022, the program will be implemented in all state regions.

It’s the first program of concesion of social benefit executed in the state of Maranhão, thar objectives the improvement of the conditions of habitability through fiscal exemption.The effecitve result is characterized by the improvement of the contemplated rooms, specially in hidrosury, contributed to the effort in raising the health indicator for mobility of person with disability and quality of life.
