Sharing Is Caring
Description/achievement of initiative

Mausak hope is taking an initiative to bring equality in the community with awareness among individuals to help low-income households in their community. It will provide basic food items to less-income families earning less than 3$ per month. It will support the student’s education expenses especially female whom parents are unable to afford their education expenses. To help and give ideas to low-income household adult male and female member to establish their own small business by giving them interest-free loans. To support any patient suffering from any life threating disease unable to pay his medical expenses.

Implementation methodologies

Public Relation Offices identifies the problems related to SDGs we adopted and our objective in the community. Once any household is identified, among the volunteer team it is discussed how to improve the standard of living by providing education to kids, direct financial help for some time or help in establishing business or pay fees for some vocational training. Every volunteer and donors normally support 2% of their gross income to help the community. But sometimes due to limitations of funding and resources some cases are out of our reach. So, with Partnership with UN SDGs we expect more people to engage and UNDP Pakistan as well to help our community. Our main idea to make low-income families to average income families so these families help other low income families. We have the example of such people supported by our team already done in Past.

Arrangements for Capacity-Building and Technology Transfer

As our idea is directly related to community development. So everything which is done in the community directly transfers to them. Like for any female member in the community if she wants to establish his or her own small scale clothes stitching unit. Vocational training will be provided to her and also clothes stitching small unit will be given to her. Once she has enough earnings and she will help other females in the community to establish such businesses.

Coordination mechanisms/governance structure

Mausak hope is governed by Volunteers having professional degrees in Engineering, Computer Sciences, Education and Religious Studies. As this non-profit organization is working since June 2013. So, there are 15-20 volunteers members of the organization. Every year elections are carried out among the member to elect President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Public relation officer. So, we need the partnership with UN for the "Sharing Is Caring" project in the community to motivate people to help our cause to improve the standard of living in our community that is Walton Road, Lahore Pakistan. Mausak hope will deliver Monthly reports to UN Platform to show their progress.
