Establishing hubs for Sikh Human Rights Group partnerships on SDGs
Description/achievement of initiative

The Sikh Human rights Group is an NGO with special consultative status with ECOSOC. It has a number of affiliates around the world that are engaged in projects which are consistent with Sustainable Development Goals. It decided to set up hubs with these affiliates in at least 6 countries that will promote the aims of SDGs and encourage other civil society projects to integrate their work with UN SDGs.

Implementation methodologies

The Hubs will hold workshops and conferences for interested civil society projects to integrate their work with UN SDGs and commit to attainable goals. The affiliates offer expertise and they work with civil society. SHRG will coordinate their engagement with UN as it has access to United Nations through its ECOSOC status.

Arrangements for Capacity-Building and Technology Transfer

Coordination mechanisms/governance structure

The project is run by SHRG in association with its affiliates in respective countries. The Director of SHRG has visited the affiliates and established discussions on hubs. The director will coordinate the work of the hubs through email contacts, phone, personal visits. workshops and conferences. The hubs will set targets for themselves and these will be evaluated every year.
