MENA Hacks
Description/achievement of initiative

MENA Hacks is the first hackathon platform available in the Middle East and North Africa. Our initiative matches a mission of empowering students with trending technology via informal education methods to bring their ideas to fruition. Presently in the MENA region, there aren't opportunities for students to get involved with hackathons, further isolating this region of the world. The opportunities available in reality are unavailable due to the financial burden of accommodation costs. MENA Hacks wants to bridge this gap and create an environment to empower anyone interested, without having a burden of cost to worry about.

Implementation methodologies

Partnerships with universities, student activity groups, volunteers, professors, entrepreneurs, students, and companies allow MENA Hacks to fund and follow out our mission. Partnerships with professors gets us in the door with students at individual universities, while partnerships with companies gets us funding and people to speak at our events. Volunteers are what make the initiative work. Their hard work is what gets MENA Hacks in the door with these companies, universities, and other connections. During each hackathon, students are encouraged to network with each other and the companies present.

Arrangements for Capacity-Building and Technology Transfer

Each hackathon will be hosted in the sponsoring university, with a hardware lab provided by a paying sponsor. MENA Hacks works remotely or in our office space in Badr City
