Description/achievement of initiative
P4G – Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 – is a new initiative, commenced in 2018, with the ambition of becoming the world’s leading forum for developing concrete public-private partnerships at scale to deliver on the SDGs and the Paris Climate Agreement. We bring together business, government, and civil society organizations in innovative public-private partnerships to advance solutions for SDGs 2, 6, 7, 11 and 12. We fund and accelerate innovative public-private partnerships in emerging and developing countries.
Implementation methodologies
P4G holds an annual call for partnership applications and selects those to receive start-up funding of up to USD 100,000 and scale-up funding of up to USD $1 million. In 2018, P4G funded 17 partnerships across the five SDGs it supports. 2019 partnerships will be announced in August-September. Additionally, the P4G State-of-the-Art Awards recognize innovative partnerships that have achieved impact. In 2020, P4G will publish a global state-of-the-art report on public-private partnerships for the SDGs and hold its biennial Summit.
