We aim to use water as efficiently as possible and have set ourselves the demanding target of reducing our water use per hectolitre of lager produced by 25% between 2008 and 2015.
Through Research, including that done by the 2030 Water Resources Group – a consortium of business partners including SABMiller, McKinsey, and the International Finance Corporation – points to a significant issue in the coming years with competing demands for scarce water resources resulting in a potential 40% gap emerging between supply and demand by 2030.
SABMiller has set itself the demanding target of reducing water use per litre of lager by 25% by 2015 against a 2008 baseline.
