Achievement at a glance
Schools have planted 20 million trees. ENO Green Cities support schools in their tree planting efforts, currently in over 20 countries. Governments have also started to support our pledge and made commitments to involved children and youth to plant trees in their countries by 2017, as follows: Kenya 60 million trees, letter 9 May 2014 Albania 10 million trees, letter 9 April 2014 Estonia 1 million trees, letter 9 June 2014 Georgia 1 million trees, letter 24 October 2014 Myanmar 1 million trees, letter 28 July 2014 Cyprus 0,04 million trees, letter 18 June 2014 South Africa 0,5 million trees, letter 4 August 2014 Botswana 1 million trees, letter 5 Sep 2015 Trinidad Tobago, letter10 Feb 2016 Bulgaria letter,18 Feb 2016 Belarus, 9 million trees 20 Mar 2016 Number of tree planted and commitments altogether: 103,5 million trees
Challenges faced in implementation
Voluntary network with very limited financial resources, difficulties with communication (language), as NGO initiative not so appreciated.
Next steps
We will go on planting trees and ask more countries to support our campaign. Trees are planted throughout the yeat but also special focus for UN days like ecological biodiversity 22 May and international day for peace 21 Sep. Trees are planted for the environment and peace. Networking and partnerships are very much welcome.

Actions
trees give shelter, food, oxygen, reduce the effect of tsunami, build peace amongst people and nations etc. Forests are also important sinks for CO2.
