REPORT OF THE SKILLS ACQUISITION PROGRAM HELD IN ONDO STATE\r\nIn the bid to put an end to poverty and also make the youth of Africa self\r\nreliance¸SDGsACT Ondo State chapter has deemed it fit to organize a skills\r\nacquisition and empowerment program for secondary school leavers in the\r\ncity of Akure¸the state capital of Ondo State. The training gathered over\r\n40 young teenagers between the ages of 13 to 17.\r\nAll together the training went on for 4 days as we were able to train the\r\nyoung youths in four (4) different skills which are:\r\n- SHOE & BAG MAKING\r\n- BARBING\r\n- MAKEOVER\r\n- DECORATION\r\nThe event was such a successful one as we were able to impact this younger\r\ngeneration in our own little way. However, the training still continues in\r\nevery part of the States/country until we are able to impact everyone to\r\nensure that we eradicate poverty and create a source of income that will\r\nsustain individual.\r\nBelow are the details of the training.\r\nFacilitators & partners\r\n- LekeARTs Concept – shoes & bags\r\n- D-dot saloon – Barbing\r\n- D-one collections – Decorations\r\n- Emmanuel Akindele – makeover & gele\r\n- This event is powered by SDGsACT Ondo State in collaboration with\r\nHighflyers initiative.

Mobilising students from various schools to the training venue is in so very easy. Our major challenge is lack of fund. we intend taking the training across Nigeria but we can\'t due to funds

We are embarking on school renovation and library in Ondo stste, community clean up in Abuja and School tour in Niger state.
