Participation in the Intergovernmental Preparatory Meeting of CSD-15

Summary
During the CSD-15 Intergovernmental Preparatory Meeting, the Bureau allocated several entry points in the programme to consider the valuable contributions of the major groups and their reporting and sharing of possible actions to address the constrains and obstacles in the process of implementation identified during the review year. These included:
- One hour and half multi-stakeholder discussion during which major groups presented their Priorities for Action and outlined their views on policy options and possible actions in relation to the four thematic issues in the course of an interactivediscussion with major groups
- Interactive discussions on energy for sustainable development, industrial development, air pollution/atmosphere and climate change
In keeping with the practice established since CSD-11, major groups have been given opportunities to speak throughout interactive discussions, contributing a total of 54 interventions, including providing comments to the Chair's first draftnegotiating document and making closing remarks on thedraft of the Chair's draft negotiating document. Furthermore major groups participated actively in the IPM’s Partnership Fair and in the side events.
