Description/achievement of initiative
‘Objetivo: 2030’ is an educative project for children aged 12-18 to learn about the SDGs and make them famous in our community, that is our village, Monreal del Campo, in Jiloca area, province of Teruel in Aragón, Spain. In our Secondary School we try to teach with new methodologies, like Project-Based Learning, and our project this year is about the Global Goals. We have choosed nine goals (one for each month) and we make researches, exhibitions, workshops, talks and trips about them. Our aim is to improve school live and values and to spread the United Nations Global Goals.
Implementation methodologies
This is an educative Project based on active methodologies as Project- based learning, Happy Classrooms and Cooperative work. We work about the SDGs in class, in the tutoring time and as a complementary activity. For our students, that means that they have to perform some specific tasks as researches, publications, work with ICT applications, exhibitions… in order to publicize each Global Goal. This academic year we have choosed nine Goals, one for each month and one for each level, to be investigated. In addition, we have taken concrete solidarity actions. Since September, 2015 we have had students and School- staff meetings to apply our own calendar about the investigation and broadcasting of the Global Goals:- September: presentations of SDGs to the School community. - October: Students from 2th ESO work about Peace and Justice- November: Students from 1st ESO work abou Poverty- December: The goal for this month is Economic growth, investigated by high school students. In this month, our School organizes a Lipdub with the collaboration of the nearby Primary School, some local NGOs, the region of Jiloca and the Town Council. This activity was coordinated by our Department of Extracurricular Activities. The result can be seen here: https://youtu.be/7A0taHEHroc - January: Bachelor students investigate about Quality Education.- February: The goal for this month is Gender Equality, prepared by 4th ESO students.- March: The goal is Clean water, studied by vocational training students. In this month we celebrate our Cultural Day, with many workshops related to the SDGs, as a way to spread them. Again, this day is coordinated by our Department of Extracurricular Activities.- April: The goal is Clean Enery, prepared by 3th ESO students- May: The goal is Good Health, and our Physical Education Department is preparing some sport activities. - June: Our students will read a final manifest with their personal commitment with the Global Goals and we are going to bury a time capsule to be opened in 2030 with our wishes to the future world, some recorded as a video. - July: Evaluation and assessment, taking into acount the indicators of good shool life and the quality of the tasks and actions.
