Description/achievement of initiative

The University of Leuven (KULeuven) has adopted a university-wide Sustainability Policy since 2015 and is know implementing this through various activities and actions developed in a number of working groups, focussing on, among others, Energyconservation, alternative energies, sustainable building and spatial planning, Greening of Campus and City, Researh and Educational programmes on Sustainabilty, Sustainability in University Management, Internationalization and Developmenty cooperation for Sustainabilty.

Vice-Rector for Sustainability Policy is in charge of implementation with a newly established team. Various Faculties and research centres of the university are stimulated and guided in implementing thes sustainability policy.
