Anaadi Sustainability Awareness for the Young (ASAY)
Description/achievement of initiative

Consumption patterns of people have a huge impact on the environment. Be it individual energy consumption or diet choices; our actions have a direct consequence on the ecosystem. As Otto Scharmer puts it, a move from "Ego-System" to "Eco-System" may be necessary for a sustainable planet. When this "eco-system" is developed at a very young age, it can lead to transformation. The aim of ASAY program is to educate school and college students on the importance of responsible consumption through an immersive and experiential content. The program will be a blend of lectures, discussions and hands-on group activities.

Implementation methodologies

The program will be delivered as workshops in several educational institutions for young people older than 13 years. The governance of the initiative will happen in the following manner: 1) Information leaflets carrying details of the ASAY program and its significance will be prepared by Anaadi Foundation 2) Host educational institutions will be contacted to get their consent to offer the program 3) Program content with training material will be prepared jointly by Anaadi Foundation and EduSeva Technologies 4) Volunteers from both the organizations will offer the ASAY program in various institutions 5) The program outcomes from the hands-on activity will be filed and documented 6) Participants will draw up a plan to implement the explored solutions 7) Participants will be able to communicate their learnings and challenges while implementing the solutions.

Arrangements for Capacity-Building and Technology Transfer

The capacity building of volunteers who handle the program will be done internally at Anaadi Foundation. The outcomes from the program in the form of charts, diagrams, and participant reports will be documented and selected will be showcased on the website. The participants will be able to share their implementation challenges through emails or shared documents which will be available for other participants to view.
