The Spanish Energy Efficiency Strategy 2004-2012 identifies the strategic objectives, as well as the route that energy policy should take to achieve the objectives.

The strategy involves saving energy resources and limiting the external dependency by environmental improvements. The strategy is integrated in the process definition of the new Spanish energy frame, and gathers the actions of multiple stakeholders in search of a common objective: the reduction in the energy intensity in Spain by about 7.2%, throughout 2004-2012.
