Payment for Environmental Services pilot project in Lake Naivasha basin, Kenya
Description/achievement of initiative

Lake Naivasha is located in the Kenyan portion of the Great Rift Valley and has been recognised as a wetland of international importance under the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands.
The goal was to develop a viable financial mechanism for payments for watershed services that delivers sustainable natural resource management and improved livelihoods and serves as a pilot and learning model for further expansion and replication.
