Fair Trade Global Initiative
Description/achievement of initiative

To build a blockchain-based platform that will bridge producers in developing nations with buyers around the world to facilitate fair trade, promote sustainable development and educate people about responsible, ethical and inclusive ways of doing business Components of the platform: marketplace for producers, blockchain-based traceable certification for each produce, dispute resolution system governed by the community, education platform.

Implementation methodologies

The platform will be built specially for producers in developing nations, in order to enable them to increase their incomes and become self-sustaining. The approach is based Fair Trade concept. It targets producers in 4 key sectors: agriculture and food (coffee, cocoa, wine, sugar, fresh fruit, chocolate), handicrafts, flowers and mining (precious metals, gemstones, granite, etc) Our goal is to help small businesses in developing nations to find the way to prosperity through international connections, without costly intermediaries. In order to achieve this goal our team will provide support and assistance for any platform participator. Our plan is following: 1. Establish cooperation with UN and other local and global organizations 2. Create first iteration of the platform on the basis of open-source technologies developed by Opporty inc and other available solutions till the end of summer 2018. 3. Attract first buyers in developed countries (US, UK, Australia) and sellers in developing countries (Nigeria, Kenya, Burundi, Bangladesh, Myanmar) 4. Educate sellers of the produce how to participate in Fair trade movement and how to build more trustworthy, inclusive and open businesses 5. Help sellers to achieve needed certifications through step-by-step guides and collaboration with certifying institutions 6. Build block-chain based platform for tracing the produce which will make all supply chain from developing countries 100% traceable for buyers and organizations 7. Attract bigger international associations and corporations interested in fair trade to the platform

Arrangements for Capacity-Building and Technology Transfer

The platform will be built on the basis of open source blockchain Ethereum using resources and capabilities of Opporty International inc company. Platform will be open-source. Support and maintenance of the platform will be provided by Opporty International inc company.
