Description/achievement of initiative
Equipex MARSS
Implementation methodologies
The project Equipex MARSS (Mass Spectrometry Center for Reactivity and Speciation Science) aims to install a center of mass spectrometry for metal speciation studies, brings together the latest generation of instrumentation in the field of spectrometry mass which, leaning against the existing potential of the IPREM (Institute of Analytical Sciences and Physical Chemistry for the Environment and Materials) will make it a center of international dimension. This project will be dedicated to scientific advances related to the reactivity and speciation based on a high level of instrumental platform with four mass spectrometers for high-end analysis of advanced speciation. The scientific goal is to push the boundaries of speciation analysis to:understanding the role of elements, particularly metals and metalloids, in relation to their chemical identity or isotopic signature, understanding of their reactivity related to their primary identity and chemical transformation kinetics, identifying chemical species of interest in their matrix environment, surfaces or interfaces, in order to locate the imaging and mapping two or three dimensions.
