Description/achievement of initiative

This partnership will enable campaigns with different stakeholders in order to support workshops for children in Vienna. The workshops have been provided by our team since 2017 and we reached numerous schools and youth organisations. The workshops and an app, are part of an informal education campaign meant to deliver quality education. Our goal is to support and empower young people. We believe that if young people know themselves, they can take better decisions, be conscious about the world around them, understand the importance of saving our planet, discover the careers trough which they can fullfill their potential.

Implementation methodologies

This initiative has been supported by SOS Children's Villages since it's beginnings, this allowed our team members to achieve excellence in coordinating and creating workshops for schools in order to empower children. We decided to take this initiative on another level and increase our number of workshops. We want to organize campaigns with relevant stakeholders in order to spread awareness about the importance of self development. One of these stakeholders is the Austrian Chamber of Commerce, with whom we will develop an online tool thus helping young people find their strenghts and their most suitable career and education opportunities. The goal is to promote aprenticeships amongst young people and fight prejudice against vocational schools. Our business modell is splitted in two departments, part of our team will develop new workshops and put them into practice in the school system. The first department already developed school materials in order to help pupils and teacher understand the importance of self development and informal education. The other department will develop new ways of promoting young people as empowered citizens of the world by achieving partnerships for quality education. These partnerships will be oriented towards companies who support a sustainable lifestyle, and also who believe that by finding your own strenghts, you can fullfil your true potential. Our purpose is to serve as a link between the needs of young people and the needs of the private sector, promoting growth and employment opportunities. We want to develop studies and study labs in order to show companies what young people want and how they can better adapt themselves to the new market. Our focus is on the Generation Z. This generation is not brand loyal and ethical commitements of a company are relevant to their choice of consume. We want to create studies to show companies the importance of these factors in their production means with the help of studies and research on their products. Our partner is a consulting firm which will help us develop strategies for companies, creating a knowledge platform to filling an existing market gap. We will coordinate with other stakeholders and companies in order to achieve mutual campaigns, which will support quality education and growth. Informal education is often neglected, trough these campaigns we will find a way to support and develop our teaching materials, app and workshops.

Arrangements for Capacity-Building and Technology Transfer

Trough our partnership with WKO, we will have more visibility and access to their platform. Together with marketmind, the market study will develop itslef into an important tool for both young people and the private sector. The schools and NGO's will enable us access to youth.

Coordination mechanisms/governance structure

"Find your strenghts" will be coordinated by Polarstern, in partnership with SOS Children's Villages, the Austrian Chamber of Commerce and partners from the private sector, consulting firms and companies. We will coordinate the development of the workshops and their delivery up to 1000 children until the end of the winter semester. In parallel, we will partner with stakeholders and create market research studies in order to fill the generation gap in the current market. With the support of our partners in the chamber of commerce we will develop tools in order to help young people find their strenghts and connect them with possible career and education choices right for them and their qualities. This way we will promote the right educational system for each individual and in the long term, create a framework in order to sink the school and university drop out rate.
