Improving Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Care Through Citizen Engagement in Odisha State in India
Description/achievement of initiative

Despite the fact that adolescents form one fifth of the Indian population their reproductive and sexual health needs (ARSH) are poorly understood and ill served. Odisha has relatively poor health indicators among all states in India as corruption in the public health sector has led to extreme inequality in access to ARSH services. The goal of this project, being implemented by YSD and co-financed by PTF and IDRF, is to improve access and quality of adolescent reproductive and sexual health care services through enhanced citizen engagement and accountability in Ganjam District of Odisha in India.
