UN SDG:Learn is an initiative by many UN and non-UN organizations to enable learners to find SDG learning solutions that best suit their needs. It is a Platform, a Partnership and a Programme with the first two components launched in July 2019 during the HLPF and all components to be jointly developed by all partners.
The Platform is a gateway that enables a smart navigation through the growing wealth of various learning solutions including courses, tutorials, podcasts, analytical and other tools, and the expertise on topics related to SDG achievement.
The Partnership ensures that the Platform becomes a key resource and the main gateway for SDG learning. UN SDG:Learn is powered by a community of practitioners that bring together the main providers of learning solutions on the SDGs from the UN, academia and universities and the private sector. The Partners network engages in regular exchange on learning methodologies, tools, curricula, and courses relevant for SDG learning.
The Programme will feature and offer joint learning initiatives that will be co-designed as part of the UN SDG: Learn Partnership to ensure integrated learning support to countries.
A Steering Group meets annually allowing to bring together all Partners for a discussion on key milestones for a year ahead. The first meeting that will take place on 21 November 2019 is expected to provide space for a discussion on other elements of governance and follow-up mechanisms.
Millions of people have improved awareness, knowledge and skills enabling them to contribute to SDGs.
