Mine Action and SDGs
Description/achievement of initiative

CAEP Libya carrying out several Mine Action activities that will provide safety and security to rural communities in Libya. The objective is to eliminate the threat of landmines and explosive remnants of war so communities can return to their land safely, increase agricultural productivity and prevent more victims of landmines.

Implementation methodologies

Community liaison, non technical studies, land clearance, victims assistance, gender equality via workshops, mine risk education.

Arrangements for Capacity-Building and Technology Transfer

Trainings are held in mid March for all members of the organization. New partnerships are being launched with tech companies, non profits, and UN agencies to adopt best practices, data sharing, and technology transfer.

Coordination mechanisms/governance structure

This initiative is overseen by the Libyan Government and TCRFund. The activities are carried out by the NGO CAEP Libya to Ban Landmines, as well as other humanitarian/commercial demining organizations. We are financed by TCRFund.
