Two Phases: Phase 1 (2014-2018); Phase 2 (2019-2022). In December 2014, the 1st phase of the national anti-corruption strategy was launched under the patronage of H.E. President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. The strategy aimed at improving the performance of public sector and public services. As well as, ensuring the establishment of a strong legislative system that supports combating and preventing corruption.Despite the success stories resulting from the implementation of the 1st phase, a set of challenges emerged, for example: lack of finance; and difficulties encountered in enforcing some laws. As a result, Egypt has adopted a comprehensive approach to build on the successes of the 1st phase as well as facing and overcoming the challenges. The 2nd phase of the strategy included a set of clear objectives accompanied by operational procedures, programs and mechanisms. To promote the principles of transparency, integrity and accountability without courtesy or discrimination. And contribute to the prevention and fight against corruption through joint efforts of all relevant stakeholders on all levels.
