Cobellum
Description/achievement of initiative

We aim to provide quality education in the field of technology to people of all genders, ages, and disabilities in an engaging manner, fostering an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset. We do this through our web platform 'www.cobellum.com' that allows users to better their knowledge of Computer Science and compete with each other. We use a rating/point system to incentivize our users to learn and improve through our informational quizzes. We at Cobellum structure, not just our platform, but our decisions based on the motto: "You try, you fail, you learn."

Implementation methodologies

Since Cobellum is a web platform that promotes the adoption of an innovative mindset and acquisition of ICT related knowledge, its implementation methodology is quite unique compared to other initiatives. Our BOD agreed to split the implementation into stages:\r\n\r\nStage 1) Deployment of the web platform.\r\n\r\nStage 2) Contact Schools in Thailand to promote the adoption of Cobellum into a real learning environment.\r\n\r\nStage 3) Promote and make Cobellum accessible to the general public in Thailand. We do this to start small and build a solid reputation before expanding our initiative overseas.\r\n\r\nStage 3) Contact partners and organizations overseas to carefully develop an expansion plan to make our services.\r\n\r\nStage 4) Expand to more countries and improve the back-end of Cobellum to make it more accessible and provide a higher quality education.\r\n\r\nStage 5) Expand our demographic and subjects (e.g. +Mathematics, +Chemisty, etc.) to provide more people with a wider range of academic subjects.\r\n\r\nWe are currently contacting organizations in the United States and Australia such as Engage Stem and STEMATIX Magazine to learn more about the academic needs in their respective locations. This puts us in right in the middle of Stage 3.

Arrangements for Capacity-Building and Technology Transfer

Coordination mechanisms/governance structure

Cobellum is governed by our board of directors (BOD), consisting of our founder and a representative from each of our main partners: BioPanax, Rembrandt. Our BOD conducts bi-weekly meetings to ensure the progression towards Cobellum's goal; every decision concerning Cobellum's operations is made after a meeting in which all 3 seats of our BOD must be present. After a consensus has been reached, the decision undergoes another process where it is critically and carefully considered by all 3 seats. Then and only then is it acted upon.
