Description/achievement of initiative
Messe Frankfurt Texpertise Network commits to the Sustainable Development Goals in global collaboration with the Conscious Fashion Campaign and the United Nations Office for Partnerships to integrate the Sustainable Development Goals into about 60 leading international textile trade fairs and events in 12 countries, attracting more than 23,000 companies and over half a million trade visitors annually. Along with digitalisation, sustainability is a topic currently exerting a significant influence on the global textile industry. Messe Frankfurt has been accompanying this development for more than ten years, and is generating acute awareness of the importance of sustainability in the textile industry.

One of the main platforms Messe Frankfurt Texpertise Network is implementing the SDGs is the Frankfurt Fashion Week (www.frankfurt.fashion). Frankfurt Fashion Week is the new home of a forward-looking, digital-savvy fashion and lifestyle community, and taes place bi-annually in Frankfurt am Main / Germany. Essential future topics of the fashion and textile industry are in focus. Sustainability and digitisation are being reflected and addressed across genres in initially digital, later hybrid trade shows, conferences, showcases and events. A new Fashion Week ecosystem is emerging. Zeitgeist meets the future.
