Reduce the environmental impact of fashion industry by promoting circularity of fabrics
Description/achievement of initiative

Fashion industry has a waste problem, and we want to fight it. 25% of the fabrics that enter in the supply chain end up as waste. Recovo is a resale platform where fashion brands can buy and sell their overstock fabrics from past collections. By recovering fabrics, we extend their useful life cycle, reducing environmental impact and textile waste. Putting their fabrics back in circulation allows other brands to benefit from them and create more sustainable collections. We bring the circular economy closer to brands!

Implementation methodologies

Recovo, launched in July 2021, counts with more than 17k meters of fabrics previously considered waste. Thanks to the AI technology these fabrics can be matched to the perfect buyer and meet their expectations for the future designs.\r\nRecovo with the partnership with third party auditors measures the environmental impact of each fabric offered in their website. Promoting and publishing the real facts about using circular fabrics instead of new ones.\r\nMoreover, to educate in circular fashion, we are committed to different universities to promote circular design from the beginning of the education of future creatives in the fashion industry.

Arrangements for Capacity-Building and Technology Transfer

Recovo's marketplace is technology efficient to offer to the buyer the perfect match in terms of fabric. We implement artificial intelligence to increase the success rate in the match of fabrics speeding the circular usage of the fabrics. The brand can see in real time the sales they have and the remaining stock in the marketplace while adding extra stock in case they need. Recovo offers low minimum order quantity so all designers, from big to small or independent brands can have access to great fabrics removing one of the main barriers to the fabric industry.

Coordination mechanisms/governance structure

Recovo's vision is to create an educational movement that will forever change the way we produce fashion. Collaborating with other industries and allies to preserve our planet's natural resources through circular and reuse initiatives. Our mission is to create a community for the purchase and sale of fabrics that reduces the problem of textile waste and the environmental impact of the fashion industry. Recovo brings you closer to a circular future.\r\nBy 2025 we can save more than 5.000 million liters of water (SDG 6), prevent more than 54 K tons of textiles from going to landfills (SDG 12) and improve our clients' net margin by 15% (SDG 17). We educate our community in sustainability values through our platform and social media (SDG 8)
