SDG 12.6 Live Tracker
Description/achievement of initiative

The SDG Target 12.6 Live Tracker, developed by GRI in collaboration with Tata Consultancy Services, is an online platform that allows governments and interested parties to monitor and visualize the uptake of sustainability reporting worldwide, corresponding to UN SDG Target 12.6. With the Live Tracker, governments and other interested stakeholders can visualize the state of sustainability reporting in their own countries and others. How many companies report on social and environmental issues in my country? In which sectors? What policies are in place in the world to encourage companies to report and facilitate sustainability reporting?

Implementation methodologies

Arrangements for Capacity-Building and Technology Transfer

The SDG Target 12.6 Live Tracker is the first step of a larger initiative developed by GRI aiming at supporting governments to monitor and implement SDG Target 12.6. As part of this initiative, capacity building programs will take place with the goal to help countries where there is a low uptake of sustainability reporting to create a facilitating environment for corporate sustainability reporting.

Coordination mechanisms/governance structure

This initiative is coordinated by GRI in partnership with Tata Consultancy Services. The data visualized through this tool is collected from GRI's sustainability disclosure database and policy initiatives database.
