Achievement at a glance
Thematic (general), administrative and operational structure and organization of the Institute completed. Defined 7 Departments (Plant Sciences; Zoology; Microbiology; Environmental Conservation; Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences; Business & Biodiversity; Audiovisuals & Multimedia), 2 Laboratories (Genetics; Microscopy), and (as of now) 13 Research and Development Centres (Banhine; Chimanimani; Lubombo; Magoe; Malhazine; Marromeu; Mount Binga; Mount Mabu; Mucapana; Niassa; Pomene; Quirimbas; Zinave). Current focus on Programme No1 (Capacity Building) and Programme No3 (Network and Cooperation Platform) engaging Official Suppliers and Official Sponsors together with national authorities and public entities, private Corporations and private Foundations.
Challenges faced in implementation
So far challenges correspond to accommodate activities under current legal framework in Mozambique together with issues related to visas, taxes, customs and specific licenses.
Next steps
Next steps correspond to achieve until the end of 2016 all goals and objectives under the road map designed. Main concern is based in creating a sufficiently robust finance fund and yearly revenues to sustain and support activities, and having a celebrated cooperation framework between the Institute and all national and local authorities in Mozambique.
