Overview

The SIDS Day during the 14th session of the CSD focused on energy for sustainable development, industrial development, air pollution/atmosphere, and climate change.

The CSD devoted the day to consider the implementation of BPoA, focusing on the respective year's thematic cluster, as well as on any new developments regarding the sustainable development efforts of SIDS.

Three panels launched a series of exchanges throughout the day. The day of discussion gave a clear indication of problems facing SIDS, the creative solutions currently existing within SIDS, the lack of resources, and the need for an instrument, including indicators, to track implementation of the Mauritius Strategy for improved coherence.
