UNCSD (also known as Rio+20) Workshop Series

Overview

The General Assembly of the United Nations adopted a resolution calling for a "United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development" (also called "Rio+20"), to be organised in Brazil in 2012. Within this context, the UN Division for Sustainable Development, in part in order to renew the commitment to sustainable development, plans to organize a series of workshops. The purpose is to raise issues and provide background for the conference.

The workshop “The challenge of sustainability” held in New York at United Nations Headquarters on May 8, 9 and 10, was intended as an opening workshop, serving as an introduction to the series.
