What are the main opportunities and challenges – at policy, organisational and individual levels - for maximizing the contribution of science, technology and innovation to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals?

A key challenge over the next 15 years will be to take full advantage of the benefits that science, technology and innovation can bring to all the SDGs, in particular to help achieve the new agenda’s objective to leave no one behind. Where do you see a potential for STI to make significant impacts on achieving the SDGs? What “road blocks” – related to policies, organizational structures, decision-making processes, or capacities – including at the individual level - currently prevent STI from reaching its full sustainable development potential? What will it take to entice and enable STI providers to address the challenges of the most vulnerable and marginalised?
