This meeting is held pursuant to paragraph 11 of General Assembly resolution A/RES/70/202 "Follow-up to and implementation of the SIDS Accelerated Modalities of Action (SAMOA) Pathway and the Mauritius Strategy for the Further Implementation of the Programme of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States", which decided, in accordance with paragraph 101 of the Samoa Pathway, to establish the SIDS Partnership Framework, to monitor and ensure the full implementation of pledges and commitments through partnerships for SIDS.

The agenda of the meeting will be the following:

- Presentation of the online Partnerships Platform, reporting template, and updates with regard to the status of registration of partnerships;

- Discussion on organising a stocktaking event on SIDS partnerships during the 2016 High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development;

- Discussion on organising the first Global Multi-Stakeholder SIDS Partnership Dialogue in September 2016, which will also launch the first publication on Partnerships for SIDS.
